Musician - Chris Hiatt

Chris was born in Dallas, Texas, though he grew up in a small coastal town in South Carolina.  In his early years, Chris went to a private Christian school where he had his first opportunities to use his music for God’s glory.  Chris graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in public relations.  While at UF he became the worship leader for Reformed University Fellowship (RUF).  His three years spent working with RUF led him to his current position as Worship and Communications Director at Christ Community Church, a PCA work in Gainesville.

Chris has had a passion for music since he borrowed his brother’s Sears acoustic guitar in the sixth grade and learned guitar chords by watching music videos on MTV.  (Just think if he had UTube back then.)  He writes songs, composes arrangements, and has played many shows with a band he formed with friends in 2006. While he enjoys performing music, he is currently devoting all of his musical energy to the church.

Chris loves biking and riding his motorcycle around north Florida.  He can drive his car for hours and loves to travel.  He has visited nearly 20 different countries in his life and has an interest in foreign languages.   (You’ll have to ask him if he name all 20.)  He enjoys scuba diving, playing sports, and goofing off with friends, but he especially loves playing the piano, eating, and the Gators.

In the future, he hopes to live in a large city (New York is his favorite) and work in the communications industry.  Chris enjoys leading worship and is thrilled to see God revealing His purpose for his life. He also believes that the Lord might call him to full time ministry.
