Musician - Zac McGowen

Zac was born in Birmingham, AL but has been a resident of the world, living everywhere from San Angelo, TX to Brindisi, Italy. He graduated from Florida Southern College and now lives and breaths in Central Florida with his beautiful wife Julie and their three highly-opinionated cats.

He first picked up the guitar in high school when a friend taught him bass lines for Guns ‘n Roses songs, but he did not seriously learn how to play until college. As a freshman, Zac joined a praise and worship band on the FSC campus and learned how to play in front of 100+ students every week. He has written and arranged songs and played in a variety of settings from clubs in downtown Orlando to mission camps in Jamaica and the Bahamas, but his love is to lead worship in the local church setting.

Since 2002, Zac has been the worship director at the First Presbyterian Church of Haines City, FL leading the congregation in both liturgical and contemporary settings. He loves arranging traditional hymns and modern worship songs to fit the context in which he serves often adding original lyrics and music to the standards.

Outside of music, Zac likes to study the Bible and theology, run, graphic design, video editing, and all things Apple-related (the computer company, not the fruit). But his passion is to glorify God in whatever opportunity he finds himself in, and to proclaim the grace and justice of Jesus Christ through as many media as are available.

Zac is graduating senior at Reformed Theological Seminary seeking his M.Div degree.
